San francisco is the Sourdough capital of the world, and what could be a better topping on toast than smashed avocado? At Avotoasty in the Marina District, there are endless toppings to choose from to adorn your carb and smashed fruit palette. 

I ordered a Beetroot Latte with the Salmon Toasty that comes with Smoked Salmon, Red Onion, Capers and Lemon.

 (Yes, it’s made from real beet root powder and poured over with steamed milk).

Is avocado toast the real reason millennials can’t afford houses? I’m not sure. But this place does sell a $50 avocado caviar toast! It’s a cute spot that focuses on healthy eating - I love their smoothies as it’s purely fruit and natural ingredients. A real local find
