In 1971, Brian Olson traveled to his homeland of Germany, where European coffeehouses served as thriving places for friends to gather and relax. He imagined that this "third place", outside of home and work, had potential for a home in America. So Café Intermezzo was born. We provide a space where people can enjoy life at a more measured pace and take an "intermezzo" (intermission) from the hectic demands of life. Café Intermezzo began as an idea in 1971, when Brian Olson traveled to his heritage homeland of Germany. Super cute! Ha. That’s the best way to describe it. 

It’s a very cool atmosphere and you feel like you’re in a different country for sure.  The desserts are why we come here. They have good cocktails and the food is actually really good too just not our primary reason for coming.
