Tried this place because someone recommended it saying DTF was overrated. The only thing I liked was the mango ! The bok choy was bland. The dumplings were overcooked. It’s very overwhelming carts go by with different entrees. I’ll stick to my DTF !

Been meaning to check out out Diamond Palace after multiple rounds of rebranding, and I'm so glad I did! I love the classic cart experience of dim sum without having to go to Kearny Mesa, and their portions are HUGE! There are some items I would have preferred a more delicate touch with less meat / filling (yes, really), but the important thing I that the textures were still right - juicy, not too dense, and none of the skins were too thick or gummy.

Get your Dim Sum fix without going to Convoy. I love Convoy, but sometimes it’s nice to stay a little closer to home, not always battle for parking…and possibly not be tempted by all the other shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. 😅

Diamond Palace is on 54th and University in City Heights (Redwood Village). I like that there are more solid Chinese food options in the Southeast SD area. 
I already want to go back for all the other dishes we didn’t get. 😆

Visited Diamond Palace during Lunar New Year weekend! It was busy, but we got seated in about 35 minutes! The dim sum carts come fairly quick to our table and there were so many delicious choices! My favorite are the rice rolls. 😋
