This is still a great place to get a nice, cozy or romantic dinner. They are under new ownership but the menu is the same. BYOB went up to $6 but the food is still good.

If you love mole, and you want traditional mexican fusion with modern takes then go to my new favorite restaurant in #Chicago on the northside. They have a delicious pollo en mole dish which is one of the best I have had served with garlic green beans and Mexican rice. Atypical dishes include fettuccine and ribs, but the chefs all have specific reasons why they are on the menu. Highly recommend you call for reservations since they have limited space inside and outside.  #mexican #fusion #gig

What a treat for Dad & the family! El Xangarrito in Chicago’s Ravenswood Manor delivers authentic, homemade Mexican cuisine in this lovely neighborhood spot. 

Ample patio seating & super friendly staff. Highly recommend 
🍌 Fried plantains - sweet, crispy, caramelized goodness 
🍤 Shrimp enchiladas in creamy shrimp sauce with jicama salad 
🍗 Chicken mole is their signature dish with one of the best dark, rich mole sauces!!

This is truly a hidden gem. Tucked into a tiny little space on Rockwell Street, you’d miss this place if you didn’t look for it. My favorite items are the ceviche, ribs, and enchiladas. They have two different kinds of moles and will let you sample both. It’s BYOB, so bring some drinks! Parking is easy!
