One of the few authentic German restaurants left in Chicago. Himmels service speed has improved and their food still remains top quality!

Definitely order the liver dumpling soup with your meal. Schnitzel and spaetzel are amazing!

Himmel’s is one of the few surviving German restaurants in Chicago’s Lincoln Square neighborhood. A go-to establishment that people flock to for authentic German cuisine.
🥨 You’ll find it hard not to fill up on their hearth baked pretzel bread
🍲 Always get their traditional liver dumpling soup
🍖 Any dish that comes with their housemade spatzel and red cabbage doesn’t disappoint! Pork medallions are one of the best dishes!

When the weather gets colder , I reach towards my comfort food and cozy cuisine. German fare to me is nourishing to my stomach and soul. Himmel’s is the place in Lincoln Square to get the best traditional German food from Liver dumpling soup and a Wurst platter which is truly the best . Be sure to grab a beer while you’re at it. Himmel’s is the best place to get your fix of German food which makes sense because Lincoln Square was where the Germans settled in Chicago. This old school restaurant has good beer, hefty entrees, and an amazing decor #german #chicago
