I got a to-go order for a friend, but I stayed for the bread plate and a few croissants to enjoy for myself — Bread Plate: 3x quarter-loaves of sourdough bread + butter, jam, and flaky sea salt. The Everything Bagel is my fave!

One of my favorite bakeries in San Diego! Their croissants are out of this world. They’re definitely pricey but, in my opinion, worth it. The real star of the show for me is their sourdough. It’s absolutely delectable! I live close enough that I buy a fresh loaf every other week. They also have really great coffee! Perfect for a friend catch-up, WFH session, or weekend hangout. 

PS: the tagged location is incorrect. Izola is now located at 14th and Island.

My hunt for a proper croissant led me to Izola Bakery in East Village. The lamination was perfect, the croissants rich and warm, and the space sunny and airy. I can't wait for their expansion and am looking forward to the day I can dip a buttery croissant into the foam of a hot latte. 🥐☕🥰

IZOLA has reopened and has an even bigger cafe spot for you to enjoy their pastries in! Their coworking space is huge, and the open air concept makes it a beautiful spot to enjoy a morning in! We love their croissants and how buttery and flakey they are! Their Tahitian Vanilla Knot is amazing too, and of course you need a coffee to drink alongside these!
