Little shop tucked away inside grand central. The de natas are nice but quite small - especially for the price. The workers were a little rushed and rude. They did taste good warm but only the original one - wouldn’t recommend the passion fruit flavor.

Joey Bats Cafe in the lower level of Grand Central Station sells delicious pasteis de nata!  You can buy them fresh or frozen.  I got a pack of 6 frozen to enjoy at a later time, and wow!  When eaten fresh out of the oven, they are warm, the custard is silky smooth, and the pastry is super flaky!

Portuguese bakeries aren’t common in nyc this is one of the few places I can find this tasty Portuguese egg tart. It’s amazing ! Tastes like a mini crème brulee. The custard is sweet and the pastry both is flaky and soft. You have that caramelized top . Ordered the chocolate one as well and that bits of chocolate on top and a layer between the custard and the bottom of the pasty. All worth the quick bite of sweetness when you are in grand central.
