Stopped by La Puerta for a family dinner. There was no wait which was great for our party of 8. The food and service was just okay. It’s a bit over priced and gives upscale Mexican restaurant vibe but was not impressed with our meals.

Busy mexican eatery in Mission Hillls with an outstanding happy hour, 3-5 daily, 1/2 off drinks, appetizers and quesadillas. Large full bar, great for groups and pet friendly.

First time checking out La Puerto during a vacation in San Diego. Love the ambiance here for a happy hour, date night, or dinner with friends! Service was very quick. Ordered the mix and match tacos with the shrimp, carnitas, and pastor and added cheese for an extra dollar. Loved the pastor tacos, the carnitas were a little salty but still good, and the shrimp was just alright in my opinion, but it got better after adding lime and green salsa.

La Puerta is such an amazing place to go for delicious mexican food and good times with friends! This is a great spot to bring a large group and celebrate with margs and tacos! There are 2 locations, but my favorite is the one is Mission Hills for the vibe and aesthetic. Highly suggest the wet burritos and their INSANELY yummy guacamole!

Came for the food and stayed for the vibes.

• Churros and ice cream
