Ono Hawaiian BBQ in Rosemead is pretty average overall—food and service are just okay, nothing standout. The upside is the spacious seating, making it easy to find a spot even during busy hours. A decent choice if you’re nearby and need a quick, casual bite.

Aloha plates are the move but even then, just recommend Kaula pork. The bbq chicken or beef is solid as well. Video’d outside of the restaurant. Cost effective

I visited Ono Hawaiian BBQ today and ordered their Mixed BBQ Plate with beef, BBQ chicken, and short ribs—and wow, the flavor delivered. Each protein had a distinct, smoky char that tasted fresh off the grill, and the portion size felt generous for the price. The short ribs, in particular, were juicy and tender, and the marinade brought a sweet-savory punch that paired perfectly with the rice and salad sides.

However, the experience was dampened by an unexpected hiccup in service.
