This was our first experience at a build-your-own bowl restaurant, and we absolutely loved it! You receive a large bowl and can choose whatever ingredients you want to fill it up. Once you've made your selection, you take it to the cashier and let them know whether you’d like it stir-fried or as a soup. The stir-fry is spicy, while the soup can be made mild. Both options are simply fantastic! I can't wait to go back!

This place is great for Malatang in Korean style. They’re priced by weight so meat and veggies cost the same. There was a sauce station too. Great place for hanging out in Buena Park.

Build your own malatang at Pixiu Malatang. The food is very yummy here and the mala is weight by pound. The spicy level is quite spicy for me even though it’s the lowest level.

New Malatang place I wanted to try out at The Source OC. Really clean, and they even allow you to weigh it prior to purchase. Honestly cleanest and most “upscale” malatang I’ve been to. A little expensive, but it’s for the experience tbh.
