This Japanese izakaya is a happening new spot. In general, we found the food to be solid, with a couple of standouts. Service is friendly, but at least during our outing, it was too fast, and at times we found ourselves eating to keep up more than we were eating to enjoy. Hopefully this will work itself out over time. All in all, an enjoyable experience, but not a home run.

Shirube is located in Santa Monica. Originally from Japan they have an incredible menu where every bite it’s absolutely delicious. You gotta get the corn! 🌽

Food is just ok, a bit expensive for what it is. Not authentic and a bit over seasoned. The interior looks better in pictures than in reality. I don’t recommend this place as there are many better quality Japanese restaurants.

A sushi restaurant tucked in the outskirts of the Third Street Promenade known for their sashimi mori. I recommend the 6 kinds of the chef special — great quality for the price. I also ended up loving the curry even though I came for the sushi.
