Established in 2006.
Sushi Lounge was an idea conceived by two friends while working together for another restaurant, Sushi on the Rock. Katie was the Manager of Operations and started their Catering department. Frank was a sushi chef in the La Jolla location for 7 years, assisted in the opening of Carlsbad and was their Head Sushi Chef. The two friends purchased Sushi Poway in 2006 and after renovations opened Sushi Lounge Poway as a new concept. Sushi Lounge offers a fresh alternative with emphasis on quality ingredients, a warm lounge-like atmosphere, and hospitable and informative service with a relaxed, friendly vibe. 

Following Poway, Frank and Katie brought their sushi style to the coast and opened Sushi Lounge Encinitas in 2012 and Sushi Lounge Point Loma in 2016. I tried the (left to right) Salmon Skin roll, Albacore roll, and Spicy Tuna roll. All were so good. The service was fast too and our waitress is very attentive and always had a smile in her face. They also have a good happy hour menu Tuesday-Sunday 3:30-5:30pm. I will come back again.

Yum! the jamapeno roll had a perfectly light crunchy texture on the outside.  my favorite was the cocomo roll with the slight sweetness of the toasted coconut. the cutting of the rolls were a little off though, some slices thicker some thinner. I think the lunch deal is pretty good, two rolls for around 20 bucks and a miss soup.
