Preparing the best of Traditional Japanese (Edo-mae) Style sushi using home made ingredients and recipes. Everything is prepared using the best of local and seasonal ingredients from around the world. Behind every meal is hours of careful preparation using skills and techniques acquired over the years. Make reservation to Sushi Bar and experience the taste of what traditional style Japanese sushi is all about. We are located in a small place at San Diego Old Town, so only limited seats are available. Highly recommend making reservations.

I had the omakase course and I’d give it a 7/10. Personally I was underwhelmed compared to my experience at other omakases but I will say the sushi was fresh. The all the sashimi and nigiris were very tender and the Hokkaido scallops were super sweet! 

I was not thoroughly impressed with all the courses, some of them seemed very much like fillers and the uni was not as sweet 😢. Nonetheless I do appreciate that a lot of the fish was sourced from Japan and the service was fantastic!

Sushi Tadokoro delivers one of the best sushi experiences in San Diego. The fish quality is exceptional, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and every piece is thoughtfully prepared. The omakase is beautifully paced, with highlights like toro and uni that melt in your mouth. We also tried the plum wine which we became a fan of. Overall it was calm, intimate atmosphere and true craftsmanship throughout, trully a nice omakase experience.

First time here and it was perfect for date night! Def book a seat at the bar with Chef. Great service and great conversation. Don’t sleep on the panna cotta!!!
