The View Lounge on the top floor of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis is one of those classic experiences that lives up to its hype. It offers some of the most jaw-dropping panoramic views in the city.

I came here to unwind and get drinks with my family I was hosting. From the 39th floor, we watched the city and people move below us, pointing out landmarks we recognized and just soaking it all in.

Pro tip: get there right when they open if you want to snag the best seat and view.
