Friends and neighbors kept peeking in the windows to see what we were up to .....a complete remodeling job along with installing our wood burning oven and bar. My sister Giuliana and I could no longer wait....we had our liquor license and as luck would have it, plenty of wine in stock so we opened the door and let our first customer in, explaining how we were not truly open, and really, the staff was not trained, and our computer system would not be arriving for another 2 weeks........and as we were going through a litany of excuses about how unprepared (and nervous!) we were, people started noticing the door was open and coming in.
