Japanese Italian food!  I had mentaiko (cod caviar) spaghetti this time and it was delicious.  I have to try uni (sea urchin) spaghetti soon. 😋

If you are looking to try Japanese-Italian fusion (this combo is more common than you’d think!), Unico is the place for you! Delicious and creative combos that perfectly highlight Japanese flavors. Some of our favorites were the mentaiko cream, yuzu peperoncino, and napolitan! Honorable mentions were the garlic bread and burrata (must eat together!)

Finally tried the new Japanese pasta restauraunt in Redondo Beach! It just opened in Feb 2025 and it was already crowded! Parking is limited though so we had to street park! Def recommend the burrata caprese, it was so good and but we wanted more 🍅😆. The pasta is more on the thicker side so it’s more chewy but next time we’d ask for it to be more aldente. It doesn’t look like a lot but we couldn’t finish our place so it’s quite filling!
