Gabriel's specializes in southern food and desserts. Stop in and admire our cakes, cookies, and pastries all made fresh daily while enjoying our southern classics such as fried chicken, mac and cheese, and collard greens. Established in 1989. Johnnie Gabriel entered the business world in 1989 with a "made from scratch cakes" operation out of her home to a restaurant/bakery serving 3 meals a day everyday but Sunday. When Mary Moon, Marietta's "Cake Lady" decided to retire in 1989, Johnnie needed to earn extra dollars to help pay her daughter's expenses at the University of Georgia. "I knew I could bake as I had watched my grandmother, "Big Mama", bake cakes for years. She lived with my family and I knew exactly how a "made from scratch" cake was supposed to taste. Mary shared 7 recipes with me that year and the rest is history. My sweet grandmother and mother would be astounded if they saw what their talents and work ethic inspired!"
