Mercado’s happy hour specials always put a smile on my face. I popped in here at sunset after some holiday shopping and enjoyed a much needed Flor de Jamaica. Don’t worry, I also had no idea what that was at first either. Turns out it’s a refreshing tangy and subtly sweet hibiscus margarita. Which paired perfectly with their jicama shrimp tacos. Turns out tortillas have been getting in the way of my tacos eating ability all this time! This bite uses this Mexican turnip as the shell which is topped with crispy shrimp, Mexican slaw, and Chile aioli for the perfect texture flavor balance.
