Ramen Tatsunoya is a Pasadena outpost of a tonkotsu ramen chain founded in Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan in 1999, with locations across Kyushu, Tokyo, and the United States. The menu centers on rich pork bone broth available in varying levels of boldness, so diners can dial in exactly the intensity they prefer. Pork belly is a standout specialty, and rice bowls round out the offerings alongside gyoza, special sushi rolls, and sake. The casual, brick-walled space works equally well for a solo lunch, a date night, or a laid-back group hangout. Outdoor seating is available, and the kitchen accommodates vegetarian and vegan preferences.
Ramen Tatsunoya is located at 16 N Fair Oaks Ave (Exchange Aly), Pasadena, CA 91103.
