great for family outing

Had a family outing with friends over the weekend. We’ve visited the Mission Inn many times, but this was our first time dining there. The outdoor seating was beautiful, but the real magic started after sundown when all the Christmas lights lit up. Carolers stopped by each table, taking song requests, and Santa even made a surprise visit. He collected the kids’ Christmas wish lists and handed out candy canes. Oh, the food was fantastic. Would love to do it again!

The architecture is stunning, and during the holidays the decorations and famous light show are beautiful. Unfortunately, the food and service don’t live up to the setting. Bread was rock hard, calamari felt like it came straight from a frozen bag, and the burger chips were clearly store-bought. Food took almost an hour to arrive, and service was friendly but very slow—we waited 20 minutes just to see our server. It’s reservations only and hard to get into, but honestly, I wouldn’t come back.

Enjoyed some yummy eggs benedict with smoked salmon and french toast and admired the amazing views at their Spanish patio!
