Honestly my favorite Japanese restaurant! Love the cozy tatami seating area. The fish here is SO fresh! My favorites are the kaisen don, omakase sashimi, and golden handroll. This place is more on the expensive side but it's very reasonable and definitely worth it for this quality.

I picked out the Dragon Roll and Bay Scallop Roll. The dragon roll is my typical selection when it comes to sushi restaurants. The unagi was good overall. The bay scallop roll had a good spice level with the spicy tuna and spicy mayo. However, I do wish the scallop had a stronger flavor profile. There's a decent amount of pieces that come with each roll, so depending on how much you can eat, it's decently satisfying.

Probably one of my favorite omakase spots in the Santa Clara area that is also budget friendly! The 9 piece omakase sashimi runs at $52 and was well worth it. Can’t ask for a more exceptional dining experience at Rantei Sushi. I was amazed by the high quality of the food and the service. There are so many different items on the menu to choose from; and I love everything I ordered so far. The ambiance aesthetic and cozy; I like the Tatami seating where it gives you a traditional Japanese dining experience.

Want to impress your date? Take them to Rantei located in Santa Clara! Must get the Kaisen Don Box and their deluxe sashimi box! You wont be disappointed!

Stopped by for dinner here and enjoyed the food. We ordered the baked oysters and baked mussels for appetizers, and split the Kaisen Don among the two of us. I also ordered a glass of the choya yuzu. Leaning a bit toward the pricier end but overall great quality and taste! Planning to come back to try the omakase!
