Shirubē is a modern Japanese izakaya on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica, rooted in a legacy that traces back to Kyodo, Tokyo. The original Shirube was founded by Takashi Uno, widely recognized as the "Godfather of modern Izakaya" in Japan, and the Santa Monica location is now led by his sons Yudai and Kodai Uno. The menu spans sashimi, small plates, noodles, and comfort dishes, with guest favorites including the sashimi mori, Dan Dan udon, and table-seared cured mackerel. The space carries a buzzing, contemporary energy that suits date nights, group hangouts, and solo outings alike. Happy hour specials and a private dining room round out what this izakaya has to offer.
Shirubē is located at 424 Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90401, just on the outskirts of the Third Street Promenade.
