The first restaurant with humongous portions!

Claim jumper was a family favorite growing up, and we haven’t been in years so we came to try it! Unfortunately, either the restaurant has gone downhill or it was just better in our memory?? Either way, still fun family time with my sister’s favorite motherload cake

Love the happy hour specials here at CJ! They also have a great baked potato and steak special!

Some might say driving 6 hours for a slice of cake is crazy….

We’ve been going to Claim Jumper since we were eating off the kids’ menu. It’s always been a special treat, especially when dessert would come and we would order a massive slice of this motherlode cake! Years later, we found one in Buena Park so my family humored my desire to go. The nostalgia still hit, but it was a bit of a let down. The portion was smaller (by a lot, which is shown in the picture) and it tasted like the cake was frozen and thawed before serving it to us :(
