Eagle Mining Co. is a historic gold mine attraction in Julian, California, where visitors can step inside authentic 1870s hardrock tunnels and experience the world of early California mining firsthand. One-hour guided tours are led by knowledgeable professionals who bring the history of over 10 tunnels across multiple levels to life. Guests can also try their hand at gold panning, with many visitors delighted to find real flakes of gold. The experience is designed for families and groups of all ages, with a focus on education and hands-on fun. The property was opened by the Sprague family, who restored the abandoned tunnels to share California's rich mining heritage.
