Ok this is the Hopleaf food post. While they are known as a legendary #chicago 🍺 🍻 beer bar, they are equally know for their Belgian style Mussels and Frites, which you’ll quickly see is the main thing they feature on their menu. The best part besides dipping the frites into Aioli is to dip the bread into the mussels broth Got an appetizer this time and it was delicious. For those that are into beer, Hopleaf is consistently in the top 10 bars in the US and for good reason. While they have large selection of beers including some of the best Belgian drafts, they don’t just serve anything. I got a Hefeiweizen because it’s summer and I enjoy that style. When you’re not eating, you can just come in and enjoy a delicious brew at the bar. #beer #iconic #bars

I love this place! It is so unique and European, a cozy oasis in the city. The beer selection is amazing, especially the Belgian options. The food is also top notch; the mussels and the frites are must-haves. The vegetarian options are super tasty too!

While Hopleaf is renowned for their beer selection, its worth a trip to #Chicago Andersonville just for their #Belgium style #mussels. 🦪 Mussels for 2 for $25 you get this pot of mussels with hearty bread that you def want to sop up the broth. I like drppping pieces into the pot, let them soak up the deliciousness, then eat a bite with each mussel. Comes with #frites & aioli 🥗 Pear & goat cheese salad was tasty but smaller than expected for $13. Fantastic service, laid back atmosphere.

Hopleaf! That is the word! If you have not been please make your way over to this Andersonville #Chicago gem which consistently is named as one of the top beer bars in America . Not only is the beer selection one of the best in the city, it is one of the few places where the food excels if not even surpasses the beer. Hopped into @thehopleaf for a St Bernardus Christmas ale and a sip of @meercoll ‘s Abt 12 Nitro yesterday of 12/12 Abt Day. They then served up alllllllll the frites, while @gmomduke dined on mussels in white wine, C1 had a brisket Ruben and I got the CB&J -cashew butter, fig jam and raclette cheese grilled in sourdough. This was maybe my 10th time here, and every time I come it is great. There is always a rotating selection of authentic imported, Belgian beers, and the food selection includes delicious fries, as well as healthy vegetarian options. The front bar is cozy in the winter and the patio out back is Amazing in the summer. I still haven’t made it upstairs, but the time will come.
