I LOVE Izakaya Osen in Los Angeles so I was stoked to hear that they opened a sister location in Irvine. The restaurant and food is so pretty and they have fire pits on their patio so it’s not too cold even if you’re sitting outside. The yellowtail carpaccio was delicious but the star of the show was definitely the Omakase Bowl! If you can’t decide on dessert, just get the Amato Special which combines both dessert options and comes with a scoop of the black sesame ice cream!

Partner and I tried the Sushi + Sashimi Lunch Set and the Sashimi Lunch set on a weekday. The Sashimi slices were thick cuts (almost like a fish steak!) and delicious. Definitely filling. The miso soup ir comes with is on another level, and not your typical miso soup. The chawanmushi appetizer was also a tasty treat. would highly recommend their lunchtime specials!

You can definitely taste the quality of the fish here which actually justifies the premium pricing compared to other places in the area . I also love how they use brown rice for their sushi rice. The place is kinda tight and small so it's tricky to get around.
