Kar son is an upscale modern Chinese restaurant with sichuan influences 💙

Went with two friends and ordered a variety of dishes! The dish that stood out to me was the branzino and their shrimp balls! I thought their seafood fried rice was a bit bland for me and the sichuan chicken was ok. The ambience is nice and cozy for a Chinese restaurant. Compared to Din Tai Fung, it’s a little bit more elevated and less crowded for sure.

Beef noodle soup was excellent. Mapo tofu was overly sweet. Portions are quite small.

This restaurant has a very nice and comfortable atmosphere that really makes you enjoy the whole dining experience.

The newest Chinese restaurant in DTLA

Loved the cucumber salad, mapo tofu and seasonal greens! The tomato braised beef was delicious - only complaint was some of the tendon pieces were a little tough and could have been cooked for longer in my opinion. Rice was also a little dry and hard but overall, great restaurant in the Row. Service was outstanding.

Loved the decor and ambiance. Soup dumplings were really good. Dishes that are not as spicy as at Szechuan restaurants are the chongqing chicken and mapo tofu.
