Kingchops is a family-owned Taiwanese restaurant at 15435 Jeffrey Rd #117 in Irvine, CA, rooted in a recipe that stretches back to 1961. The founding story begins with grandmother Mrs. Hu Chen Jing Lan, who ran a beloved pork chop rice bento shop called Jing Yuan Pai Gu in Ximending, Taipei. Her signature black pepper porkchops, crispy outside and tender within, became a staple for generations before the family brought the tradition to Southern California. Today, Kingchops carries that same 60-year-old recipe forward alongside chicken leg rice, noodle dishes, and crowd favorites like popcorn chicken and Taiwanese beef rolls. The restaurant suits quick lunches, family meals, and group hangouts alike.
