Sama hand roll has fresh fish, hand rolls, skewers and more. I like the bowls too. They validate parking in the arts district. It has premium Japanese food.

The handrolls were incredibly fresh and high-quality—we ate them so fast, we didn’t even get a chance to take photos! The Wagyu short ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly seasoned. Don’t skip the appetizers—the edamame and green bean tempura are both must-tries. The Hamachi Serrano is also a standout: bright, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The yakitori was fantastic and generously portioned. If you can, grab a seat at the bar to watch all the action up close!

Sama Handroll in DTLA offers fresh, well-balanced hand rolls with quality fish and a clean, modern vibe. It’s a great spot for a quick sushi fix, though portions can feel a bit small for the price.

One of better handroll spots in LA in the Arts District. But they serve more than just handrolls, also got some edamame, shishito peppers, chicken skewers, chicken heart skewers, and the grilled avocado. Definitely good for small groups and date night. Went during happy hour so some of the normal items are a little cheaper. Will definitely be coming back.
