Just opened new location! It's more than just coffee, it's a movement to promote healing and communal wealth-building for communities of color inside a sacred space through activism and artivism, in a natural and respectful way, one cup at a time. Established in 2015. The idea for Café X came from a leadership fellowship program Khea Pollard started in 2015 called RISE San Diego. Pollard wanted to create a space for healing and connecting but also for mobilizing to challenge forces that want to label, rename, and claim disenfranchised communities and the people in it. Officially branding in 2018, Cafe X has moved from the Southeastern San Diego community into the Sherman Heights/Barrio Logan area into a creative studio space. Here we support the coffee community and lhold space groundwork for for organizers, entrepreneurs, business executives, community members and more, to heal and build relationships with one another.
