This is Yelp’s #1 rated bakery in the country for a reason. Izola is an artisan bakery in Downtown San Diego that has an incredible selection of pastries and sourdough bread. The use real ingredients for their delicious creations including butter from Normandy, organic milk and free-range eggs. The best croissants and sourdough I’ve ever had! The classic styles are amazing but the specialty flavors are always innovative and delicious. Plus they serve tasty espresso drinks and have great vibes. It’s pretty expensive for a bakery but you can taste the quality so worth it.

We got the bibimbap and chocolate almond croissant. The bibimbap croissant was interesting since I’ve never had anything like it. The chocolate almond croissant was also good. The biggest downside is that the croissants are ridiculously expensive. It was $30 for two croissants. For that price, the croissants aren’t worth it in my opinion.

New Izola location in East Village is really spacious, open, and inviting. I’m not a big fan of croissants, but they’re chocolate olive croissant was really good and I loved it, their croissants are really high-quality and well worth the price. The new location is easily accessible, and there’s a lot of of seating options indoor and outdoor.

I love a good bread and butter board. The place offers a variety of sourdough bread flavors and different types of croissants from savory to sweet.
