Homemade food at reasonable prices Established in 1972. I first opened with the intent of serving real, homemade food at reasonable prices to the Evanston community. On April 10th 2016, I was forced to close due to financial reasons. With my guidance, my daughter Sara opened Dave's New Kitchen June 10th 2016 to carry on the tradition in a much smaller space with many of the original recipes and staff. Though we've re-worked several dishes and have introduced a few new ones, we are still committed to serving real, homemade food at fair prices. Our small space means we can spend more time & other resources (aka money) focusing on a limited menu. Being small means that it's simple to re-work our menu and seating arrangements. Being small has some negatives - we can no longer seat groups of twenty or more. We do not have space for children (or adults) to wander about. But we do have a large window and look onto a very pleasant neighborhood. Though we are not yet delivering we are happy
