Wat Thai of Los Angeles is a historic Buddhist temple and vibrant food court destination in North Hollywood, established in 1971 as one of the first Thai Buddhist temples in the United States. Every Saturday and Sunday, the temple grounds transform into a lively Thai street food festival with dozens of vendors serving made-to-order dishes, from duck noodle soup and beef khao soi to pad see ew, crab fried rice, and Thai tea. Guests purchase tokens on-site to use across the food stalls, creating a communal, market-style experience that feels remarkably close to the night markets of Thailand. The atmosphere carries the warmth of the Buddhist community, with the gentle scent of incense and a welcoming spirit that suits solo visitors, families, and large groups alike. The outdoor setting and wide variety of vendors make it one of the San Fernando Valley's most beloved cultural dining experiences.
Wat Thai Temple is located at 8225 Coldwater Canyon Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91605.
