The festival of Pongal is going on in India right now, so for today only Naturally Desi was offering up a Southern Indian style feast that has several different dishes! Pongal is also a type of risotto-like rice dish, and we got to try some different sweet and savory varieties. It has been so fun trying and learning about different regional Indian cuisine!

Naturally Desi on Bernardo Center Dr serves unique Kerala style dishes you don't find so much around SD. The owner is so sweet, and she makes delicious fusion cakes & desserts incorporating Indian traditional flavors. The Goat Pepper Fry she recommended was seriously 🔥, the flaky crunchy paratha was so good, and the gulab jamun cupcake was eggless, but still had a delightful texture and a beautiful rose flavor that wasn't too sweet!

New weekend specials! We tried the nattu kozi fry which is a coconut curry with chicken, and keema (ground lamb) biryani. We also got a delicious gulab jamun cupcake and mango lassi for our son!

Naturally Desi just celebrated their 2nd anniversary! This woman owned business is the culmination of the hard work of Archana Nirwan during the pandemic. She changes up the menu every 6 months! New items here - cheese vada pav, lunch combo, & paan ice cream!
