Carnivore Sandwich is a hidden gem in downtown San Diego with amazing sandwiches and soup. The staff is very friendly and helpful with the menu choices. I recommend the chicken salad sandwich, philly cheesesteak sandwich, Reuben sandwich, and matzo ball soup with the noodles, chicken, & carrots.

As a San Diego local who loves exploring hidden gems, I recently stopped by Carnivore Deli Sandwich Shop in the Cora Columbia neighborhood—just a short walk from the heart of Little Italy—and I’m so glad I did. I ordered the turkey club on sourdough, which came perfectly toasted and generously layered with fresh ingredients. The sandwich was rich and satisfying—decadent, even—without feeling overly heavy. The crisp pickle on the side added the perfect contrast. Portions are definitely sharable

Carnivore Sandwich is a good staple when you need a simple but yummy lunch. They have fantastic prices ($14 for a massive sandwich?!). The bread was lacking, and they definitely only load the filling in the middle to make it look fuller. I wouldn’t go out of my way to try it, but I’d return for a simple office lunch.
