Speakeasy with beautiful paintings, old fashioned furniture and decor. Small bar, rows of people waiting to get a drink. Smelled like a hot yoga room in there. Cool but too crowded, no seats, bad air :) 5/10

the backroom nyc is a speakeasy designed like the prohibition era. They serve cocktails in teacups like they did during this time. Entrance can be tricky to find but its below a staircase and through a brief underpass to reach here. Seriously suchh a cool concept. They have great mocktails as well

Hidden speakeasy bar in the east village. Walk through the hidden alley and go up the stairs to find yourself this vintage bar. Quite busy on a friday night so go as early as 5pm to snatch yourself a nice booth or seat at the bar!

With a discreet back alleyway entrance hidden behind The LES Toy Company sign, this spot is one of only two speakeasies remaining in NYC that actually operated during Prohibition. Truly an original 1920's speakeasy, the Back Room played host to a variety of patrons from actors to gangsters, even Bugsy Siegel himself. Step inside, be transported back to the roaring 1920's, and sip your cocktail from a teacup... just like they used to secretly drink during Prohibition.
